Party Patrol
April 29, 2012
They took me back to my roots with this one. This was mainly an Oldschool R&B, Reggae and House Party. When I found out that we had people from chicago I had to take them back to the old school. We did the cupid shuffle, electric slide and even some chicago steppin. But, we definitely had fun with the old school house.

Friday Hip Hop Talk
April 23, 2012
Its been an interesting week with the release of Future’s Pluto album and Nicki Minaj
Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Here are some of the highlights and requests from last night at JR Crickets. Overall the crowd was mixed with young and old and several people celebrating birthdays and graduations. There were a couple of tracks that have not yet gained full momentum such as theraflu and mercy. However, I think they will be buzzing in a few more weeks on radio and clubs rotation.
Special Shout outs to all of the JR Crickets Staff at Tara Blvd.

Friday Hip Hop Talk with Lex Zyne
August 6, 2011
Who is LexZyne?
Do you have a while? LOL. In a nutshell we’re a production team. Two brothers. Dzyne and Lex Luthor. We do what we love to do because we love to do it. We both love hip hop as a culture and have fallen even deeper in love with the music aspect since we started truly “digging in the crates” to find that RIGHT sample.
What type of sounds do you think hip hop artists will use in the future?
I think claps will make a huge comeback. Lol. People will start to get more creative with what they use. Synths will probably start to fade and more live based instruments will start to be used again. Boom bap will come back full circle.
Everybody knows that Dj’s gonna break hot records. How do producers fit in to the equation of breaking records?
In my opinion a producers job is to tell the artist when it REALLY is or isn’t a hot record AND to also push the record to his/her connections as well. When it comes to a song, your production is only as hot as it makes the song sound.
Aside from soul, what are other genres of music do you like to sample?
Classic rock, Country, Blues, Reggae, Soca.. quite a bit. Anything we find that sounds good to US is fair game
Who are your influences?
Everybody before us. Even those that we say, “We cant EVER sound like or be like that”. They influence us to do better.
Do you ever have to turn away opportunities to collaborate with other
artists or producers?
Yes. If the content is not in line with our movement then we wont rock with you. The only exception is if we don’t know about it. Part of being a part of this machine that’s called the music business is the ability so say “no”.
What are the current projects that you are working on?
We have a LOT of irons in the fire. We’re working with PincGator (Houston) on a mixtape. We’re ALWAYS working with Tha Centop (Houston) on all types of projects. We are part of Broke & English with Skillzbeatz (United Kingdom). We’re always collaborating on tracks with him. We’re working on getting Brown Baby by LifeUnda (Indiana, US) wrapped up and released. We have an important benefit project coming up too. We’re working on that with Mean Doe Green (California, US) and Silence Dem ALL (California, US). This will be a positive project that will actually benefit a larger cause and really and truly give back to the community. All of the proceeds from that project will be donated to a specific charity. We are also still supporting the home team. Team TRIumph will always be close and we are constantly working on music with and for all the artists on the team. Some more things coming up, Vicious Cycle (Texas), Invincible (Detroit), All Star Cliq (Ohio), Dawn Gun (California), Quanstar (Atlanta), R.A. The Rugged Man (New York), DoItAll (New Jersey), and a few others that deserve to be named but I just cant mention right now.
One of my favorite tracks of yours in my rotation is “I’m Sorry (feat. Pinc Gator)”. I been spinning that one for a minute now. What is one of your favorite Lex Zyne singles?
I cant even do that. Theres really so many. Each one is like having a new baby. They are all different and individual, but theres something that you love about each one that makes it extra special. Im Sorry is definitely a great one though.
What advice would you give an up and coming producer that is new to the game?
If its “All about the money” stop now, because THERE IS NO MONEY in the beginning. Also, don’t be afraid to say no. If there is something you don’t want to do, cant do, or just don’t feel comfortable doing, don’t hesitate to pass it off to someone else. Networking is still the best promotion you can have. One last thing; check your ego at the door or prepare for failure.
Where can we find out more about Lex Zyne?
http://www.lexzyne.com has a LOT of information
http://www.lexzyne.com/beats has a LOT of beats. We’re always here and were always ready to work!

Friday Hip Hop Talk with B. Palma
August 6, 2010
Who is B. Palma? B.Palma is an artist out of VA, just trying to bring so feeling back to the music! People sometime forget that music is about how you feel and what you have been through also!!
Everybody knows that Dj’s gonna break hot records.
What is one thing that the DJ’s can more of to help artists like you?
Get involved with more of us! Me personally you will see a DJ get involved with a major because the money is there, get involved with a up and coming! build that old relationship where DJs used to do that.
What are the current projects that you are working
on? Im working on my EP right now titled IMAGINE probably dropping in Feb.
One of my favorite tracks of yours in my rotation
is “Dear Mrs Winter”. I been spinning that one for a minute now. What is your
favorite B Palma single? My favorite BPalma single is Dear, Ms. Winter because it shows you that side of a man that most are afraid to show a woman! If my woman left me I would be out of it! if you asked most men they would say its plenty of chicks out here, which is true but untrue about how THEY feel.
A lot of cats ask me what is the difference
between Hip Hop and R&B these days, it seems to all blend together now. How
do you feel about the future of hip hop and R&B Music? I feel its coming back around to where you have to be creative now!! especially in R&B you cant just make a 1,2 song and it be a hit, ppl want more right now!
What advice would you give to other artists that
are just entering the music game?
Man, build relationships and never let anyone work harder than you! and learn the business!!!
What other artists would you like to work with in
the future?Anyone who is original and loves this as much as I do.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?Writing hit after hit for other major artist and B.Palma being a brand that people can trust! Just like how you trust Tide to wash your clothes with, or Dawn for the dishes!!
Where can we find out more about B .Palma?
